BRADFORD QUANTIFICATION OF PROTEIN CONCENTRATION

Last Update: December 2006

PROCEDURE - Standard Curve
1. Prepare the following standard curve:

mg of standard BSA

0.2 mg/mL BSA stock (mL)

dH2O (mL)

Bradford mix (mL)

2. Wait for 5 minutes and then read absorbance at 595nm
3. At the same time, prepare your samples of interest as above and meaure absorbance after measuring the standards. Take an average of the standard sample and determine the absorbance that defines 1 mg of BSA and use that to measure the concentration of the unknown samples
